About the automated voting...

This is the Comelec's Tally of the 2007 senatoriables for this day. We can see that the GO still outnumbers the TU. I'm now waiting for the finalization of these results, whether the people written in here are the senators that we will see and endure for the next few years.

Actually i'm not really into politics, I didn't vote last may 14. Maybe on the next elections I will have the guts to go and drop a ballot in that yellow box.

One of the reasons that i'm not interested in voting is that because it's not yet automated. Having an automated elections will make the results go fast. In what I see, the politicians are afraid of the changes. Because they can no longer do their cheating the old way. Let's face it, because it's true. Politicians makes us people look dumb. they even risks innocent lives just to steal ballots to make them win the polls. I can still remember that the polls are supposed to be automated since the last 2004 elections, It's still in my mind how the other politicians defied the automation. Their reason is that the elections might be hacked. That's bullshit, as an IT student I do know that yes, it is possible to hack it. But that's why there is the so called system security. They should have known that there are also ways of making the security strong. Others also said that we're still not ready to have an automated election because of the lack of infrastructure. But how can we prove that we aren't ready if we are not implementing it, Infrastructure can also be built. We're paid several millions for the voting machines, and i can't believe that we're also paying for the storage and maintainance of these machines just to make it rot and not use it. That's total waste of resources, they should've not brought those machines if they wont use it. The fact that their reasons are too shallow makes them look dumb. It's funny seeing politicians telling that the system is hackable and questioning the security of the machines, they don't even have the knowledge about those machines. It's even more funny when people tells that the machine is hackable without even knowing how the machine looks like. I talked to someone before and he told me that "kung yun computer yun, eh di may lalagyan ng CD yun, kung may lalagyan ng CD yun eh di pwedeng ilagay yung program na mandadaya dun". These words makes me laugh, the voting machines are not like the personal computers. I have nothing more to say, for me, opposing the automated elections are just ways of the so called TraPos(traditional politicians) to avoid the changes that might lead them to losing. Let's remember that power greedy people will do anything just to gain it.

To the politicians: I'm tired of your promises that you'll remove corruption in the country and others. Even i can tell that those are things that i want to do. Please tell us how you'll do it. That's quite crappy hearing it from someone who'll lead our beloved country.
